Every property is different, so always have a lawyer review the papers. These are the documents buyers commonly ask to see:

  • Title deed: shows how the seller came to own the property.
  • Land records (khatian): the record of rights for the land.
  • Mutation (namjari): shows the land is recorded in the seller name.
  • Land tax receipts: show the tax is paid up to date.
  • Approved building plan: for a flat, the plan approved by the authority.

On TrueSpace, owners can apply for a verification tag, and buyers see whether a listing has been checked before they engage.
